Context and inspiration

A legend of French basketball and a major figure in the NBA, Tony Parker was an essential player to portray in my work. Drafted in 2001 by the San Antonio Spurs, he became one of the first French players to establish himself in the United States over the long term, paving the way for a whole generation of basketball players.

After creating this artwork, I had the chance to meet Tony Parker to present him with a first painting. On that occasion, he also signed this second creation, which I present to you here. His signature gives the artwork a unique dimension and immortalises a particularly memorable moment in my artistic journey.

Creative process

Having received the Air Jordan 1 High "Hord Crafy" pair, I was able to incorporate it into the artwork. I cut out and assembled the different parts of the shoe to reveal his portrait.

This creation is completed by the striking signature added by Tony Parker himself.
